Alex Bouchie, our Farm Manager, brings a unique blend of heritage, experience, and expertise to ShanDaph Oysters. Born and raised in a neighbouring community, Ardness Alex's connection to the sea runs deep, cultivated through years of observing and assisting his grandparents in their commercial lobster fisheries. His family's legacy in maritime endeavors spans generations, with his great grandfather receiving accolades for over six decades of lobster fishing, passing the torch to successive family members. While rooted in tradition, Alex's aspirations extend beyond the horizon, fueled by a degree in aeronautical engineering. Despite his technical background, his heart remains tethered to the ocean, evident in his dedication to sustainable aquaculture practices. With over eight years of hands-on experience alongside Philip Docker, Alex has honed his skills, poised to carve his own path in the shellfish farming industry. Alex hopes to have his own farm around the bend from ours in the near future. Residing in Trenton with his wife and two sons, Alex epitomizes the spirit of resilience and adaptability essential to the farming life.
